We recall the classical tree-cotree technique in magnetostatics. (1) extend it frame of high-order finite elements general domains. (2) focus on its connection with question invertibility final algebraic system arising from a edge element discretization magnetostatic problem formulated terms magnetic vector potential. With same purpose invertibility, we analyse another classically used condition, Coulomb gauge. (3) conclude by underlying that two gauges can be naturally considered high order framework without any restriction topology domain.

Edge elements for magnetostatics
Edge-elements are introduced and discussed in the context of complementarity, a desirable characteristic of numerical methods, by which solutions which are equally satisfactory as regards both fields b and h are obtained. By making the vector potential approach easier than with standard nodal elements, edge-elements enhance complementarity. We discuss comparative merits of both kinds of elements.
